Background and Education
Jerono Phylis Rotich, Ph.D., is an educator, administrator, servant leader, researcher, mentor, and motivational speaker. She is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, mentoring, and wellness. Her leadership style is centered around servant leadership, and she strongly supports women, youth empowerment, and community engagement.
Prof. Rotich is also the CEO and Founder of the Kenya Students in Diaspora (KESID) Foundation (https://kesidfoundation.org/), Women & Youth (WOYO) Global Diversity Consulting (https://woyogdc.com/) and WOYO GDC Limited in Kenya.
Her work in the academe, organizations, and community has not gone unnoticed. Her exemplary work has earned her many recognitions and awards at the state, national, and international levels.
In addition to her achievements, she has also been elected to lead various organizations and associations. She has been appointed to serve on several task forces and committees, including the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms in Kenya and the Commission of Research & Publication of ICTSG, established during the 2018 UNESCO Collective Consultation on TSG.
Her Current job
She is currently a full professor of Kinesiology and the Associate Dean for Organizational Climate, Inclusion, and Belonging at the School of Public Health, Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, USA.
Her previous work experience includes serving as a professor of Kinesiology and department chair of Kinesiology and Recreation Administration at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, USA.
Before joining NCCU, she worked at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she started as an assistant professor and worked her way up to become a full professor in the Department of Kinesiology.
